PIETAS AVG Pietas, veiled, standing front, head to left, sacrificing with her right hand over lighted altar and holding open box of incense in her left. BMC 70. Cohen 30. RIC 264. Thirion 407. A magnificent piece, fresh and clear and with a wonderful portrait. The reverse a bit weak, otherwise, extremely fine.

From the Joseph Markowitz Collection (1897-1981), brought to Israel in 1949 and kept in the family ever since.
